Essential parts of the Business Letter:
  • letterhead is printed at the top of the letter sheet (the firm's name, logo, postal address)
  • inside address - the addressee's name and postal address. The postal address may also include special instructions to the post office and/or to the addressee: Air Mail, Registered (doporučeně), Express Delivery, Poste Restante, Printed matter (tiskopis), Please forward (pošlete za adresátem), Confidential
  • references and date - references - the dictator's initials, letters and numbers indicating the writer's department or section. The date: 12 August 1999, 12th August 1999, August 12, 1999, 1999-08-12 (order: year, month, day)
  • salutation - Sir or Madam, Dear Sirs, Dear Mr Baker, Dear Ms Smith, Dear Professor Davis
  • body of the letter - contains the message
  • complimentary close - Yours faithfully (if we use salutation Dear Sirs), Yours sincerely
  • signature - the name of the person signing the letter is usually typed below the space left for the signature

  • replies to enquiries

  • is very important for every goods - it helps to sell the products (the advertisement influence people very much and the producers know that fact)
  • they are on TV, radio, newspapers and magazines, or on the billboards

Fast messages:
  • messages and some documents can be send quickly - by fax or e-mail
  • e-mail address consists of the name, at-sign ( = @), and the domaine (ending with the short name of the state - cz, se, uk - or with abbreviations - org, com ...)

    • Regional development – poorer regions of the EU can get money to create jobs and improve the quality of life for people living there.
    • Education and training – there are special programmes to help people broaden their education and to train, or retrain, for employment. (Socrates, Leonardo...)
    • External trade – trade agreements between the EU and other countries of the world
    • Laws on employment condition (including health and safety)
    • Research and development
    • Transport policy
    • Development of an IT policy and a telecomunications policy

    • Public health legislation and campaigns

    • Developmental aid to the Third World
  • Governing the EU
  • Like any government, The EU is a system for making decisions and spending money on a joinmt rather than individual basis. The Member States of the Eunominate members of the Comission and judges to the Court of Justice. Representatives of aech government sit in the Council of Ministers, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) elected by the voters in each country sit in the EP.
    • The European Council
      • council or summit consists of the Heads of State or Government of each Member State, who usually meet twice a year to give overall direction to the EU´s programme.
    • Under the treaties Europe is managed by five different institutions:
